Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 (Taipei)
This is the original Din Tai Fung. Where it all started. The history? It started off as an oil business, but because oil wasn't selling very well the owner (as you do) turned to other skills such as making Xiao Long Bao (one of the signature dishes here). The rest is all history, with this chain ending being one of the top ten restaurants in the world.
Expect to wait 1+hr here for a table. Is it worth it? YES at least come here once.
Don't worry about ordering in mandarin, because of the popularity with Tourists, you can get a menu and also wait staff which speak 4 different languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean). And Din Tai Fung give you a sheet of paper to mark down what you want anyway.
